what i’m working on
so, i’ve decided to finally bite the bullet and learn html coding for websites (it’s about time!). i’ve been on-again-off-again with html and css since 2020, when i made my first website which documented every single item i owned at the time. or at least- most of them!
i only wish i had that code still, but my college closed access to my college google drive (where it was stored) and deleted everything about a month after i graduated lol. so i’m afraid it’s lost forever.
ah well, here’s to the next website, right?
and speaking of the next website, what am i planning on making, i hear you ask….
i’m remaking my portfolio site! what you currently see when you go to rthwrms.com will not be there for much longer!
i’m excited, personally, to document more of my process with my website. the current host i’m using, mmm.page, is great, but doesn’t allow exporting content, which is a huge issue for me moving forward.
plus, for mobile users, it only shows a small amount of what’s available on screen for desktop users (see the large swaths of green on my homepage for reference). that’s a lot of wasted space for me, tbh. so i’m moving over to neocities at some point in the future, though i have no set date for that yet. i’ll keep you updated.
the exciting thing about coding my own website is the freedom in which i can structure how one navigates through the site.
i’m planning on having my portfolios be easy access links for professional viewing, but on the other side of the site, i want to include more interactive and visual narrative elements. i’ve always wanted a website you could explore like a maze, so that’s the vibe!
it should be quite interesting to figure out :-) i’m very excited.
